Society for French Studies 47th Annual Conference, University of St Andrews
3th - 5th July 2006

The 2006 programme featured panels on a wide variety of topics including Violence, Confessions, Documentary Aesthetics, Music and Identity, Les Lettres et les Sciences, Genre and Experimentation, France and Scotland and Transcultural Paris. Our plenary speakers were:

Jonathan Culler (Cornell University), ‘Reading Les Fleurs du Mal Today’

Michèle Le Doeuff (CNRS), ‘Une vision moins intimidante du travail philosophique’, Un dialogue avec Elizabeth Fallaize (St John’s College, Oxford)

Charles Forsdick (University of Liverpool), ‘”Un spectre oublié”: The Afterlives of Toussaint Louverture’
